The agricultural sector is the pillar of the Indian economy. It provides employment to approx. 60 percent of the nation’s workforce and contributing to about 17 percent of the country's GDP. But today's youth is not too keen to pursue agriculture as a career option. Despite the growth, the agriculture sector is under tremendous pressure such to low productivity, poverty, and malnutrition in rural areas. Water shortages, a changing climate, and fragmented land holdings are other prime issues to deal with. Millions of smallholder farmers are yet under tremendous stress to feed their families. Soil & Seed is to part of this journey for more than a year and it tries to support the farmers at the ground level with technology & adequate training.
